Feliz Cumpleanos
February 18th marked my sisters 20th birthday…loco to think about. In order to mark this momentous occasion we all went to a spanish restaurant, Los Cuates, which name seems to have no translation in english. Maybe a dodgy sign, maybe not. It was a night full of peach margaritas, peter pan collars, and a pastiche of laughter. I'm still trying to get the smell of enchiladas out of my purple circle scarf.

Apple Bottom Jeans Sans the Fur
On my latest venture to visit Em at college we kicked it old school. We strolled through M street trying to buy artwork that was not for sale, had a two hour dinner with Bridget reliving all the goods times at our summer job together, and finished the night with a rendition of Apple Bottom Jeans you wouldn't believe. Also I learned the power of java, don't doubt it. It can warm up any cold man's heart, even if he's been standing outside for hours listening to people make fun of some other man's weird attempt to grow a mustache.

NYFW Instagrams- Honestly WTF
I wish I could be at Fashion Week in New York, but c'est la vie. Instead I have been following along on Instagram. Here are some of my favorites from Honestly WTF.
LBD and LBC
NBD but the LBD and LBC are imperative to the formulation of any closet. As a result Em and I could not resist purchasing these two pieces from Zara. The jacket enables me to simultaneously feel like a waiter with penguin tails or a character in the Matrix. Two things I have been tirelessly searching for in a jacket. This little mini emulates the Mini Mouse vibe, and the bejeweled collar amps up the style and sass. Both of these were withheld by our mother until our birthdays. Lucky Em gets hers tomorrow, I still have a month, a week, and a day until the tails will be out and about.

DIY- Love is All Around
I am a firm believer in Erica Domesek's "re imagine, reuse & reinvent" mantra. There is nothing bette then flipping through a magazine, falling in love with something and then making your own version. Ever since I first saw Carrie Bradshaw don her "carrie" necklace I have been smitten for one. However for this DIY project I switched up the wording and opted for the Valentines day mood. The best part about this DIY project is there only one ingredient, thin copper wire. From there you can shape it into anything!

L.U.V... Rihanna
Although I adored Adele in her glittery Armani and if I could trade voices with anyone she would be my girl, I found Love with Rihanna's dress. She looked gorgeous in this exquisitely cut Giorgio Armani silk gown. The Plunging neckline paired with the low cut back was effortlessly elegant in black. She showed that less is always more. Even down to the minimal accessories, nude makeup, and wavy hair, she played Russian Roulette and won.

Preppy School Chic= Kilt+ Blazer+Boot
The sum of these three components always delivers an effortless ensemble. This morning I spiced it up with a blue and white striped J.Crew blouse and purple infinity scarf (which can be used as a dress in case of any spills in the cafeteria).

Pull the Trigger
You will not regret getting these flashy frames….for $12. They are one of the few sunglasses that are able to emit a Willy Wanka vibe while simultaneously being extremely chic. To borrow a phrase from Nike, JUST DO IT. clickyclicky
Current Obsession: Lace
My other Sabo Skirt purchase was this amazing white lace skirt. Which has me yearning for summer. I cant wait to get golden, sport gladiators, and throw on a gurple (gray and purple) razor back tank with some cat eye sunglasses. Only about five months to go...

Adventures in Dress Code
I unsuccessfully avoided a demerit today with my black rugby pants. The sew in patch on the back pocket and their "jean like resemblance" did me in. None the less my Amelia Earheart ensemble flew on.

Current Obsession: Capes and Leather
Not only do capes keep you warm but they also
1) make you think you can fly
2) make you feel like a super hero/ little red riding hood
3) give your arms crazy mobility
On that high note Hermes Bracelets sadly do none of the above…but they don't have to, they are amazing in and of themselves. This is one of my favorite jewelry pieces to throw it. It instantly adds a pop of color and can be dressed up or down!
