Pur Suit of Radness

Let's be real, aside from dodgy tan lines one pieces are pretty rad. Yeah, rad. They way I see it more fabric means more possibilities. If your having trouble believing me click here and see for yourself. This suit named Betty is not something your grandmother Betty would sport. This is probably because it's just rad. Good news with this suit you wont have tan lines on your back to sort out later.

Nailerly There

Nothing gets me quite hyped like funky nails. For my upcoming prom I was desperate for zig zag nails. Im still searching for a salon that will help me achieve this look. Most times when I ask for a special design they refuse. If I try to recreate the same look it just doesn't seem to come out quite right. But at least we can both agree these nails are beyond..

Not Over It

Lately I have been reminiscing over my childhood OshKosh B'gosh overalls. They were all the rage in pre school. You could swing without any worry of flashing your classmates or scale the jungle gym effortlessly. I think its time to bring them back. My hardest decision is do I go for full on pant overalls or cut them short for a summer look? These are from Shop-Bop and I may just need to have them...

No Faith in Brooklyn

My family has been dying to explore Brooklyn and although those plans this weekend were nixed we still made it into New York. Memorial day in New York City slightly resembles a ghost town, and that is why we always venture in. The streets are quiet, the weather is usually lovely, and the food is always delicious. After a two hour brunch with my brother and his room mates discussing the distribution of media in our modern society, we parted ways and my sister and I went shopping. We hit up all the usual haunts, Zara, Topshop, Aritzia. We even strolled through Nolita and ventured into all those adorable boutiques. Maybe next time Brooklyn.

Mellow Yellow

Now that I am on my senior project I finally get to break free from my school uniform. It's been a transition, no longer is it a simple decision between which color kilt with which color polo. But I have to admit i'm loving expanding my options

Tracking Device

As the summer heats up you may find yourself storing your winter duds and swapping them for summer pieces. For an end of the year track party I threw on a mullet top with some light blue skinny's.

Horse Play

Whenever you are going to a horse race I feel as though Lily Pulitzer is the go to brand. It's bright, fun, and colorful. Not to mention the cut is always flattering and chic. The huge plus of horse races is that they endow you with the rare opportunity to don massive hats. Emma and I took full advantage of this.

Two of a Kind

For my first day of senior project I decided what seemed more professional then a peplum with a crisp white button down. I threw on a blazer for an anticipated cubicle chill from the air conditioning and I was off. The day went well, aside from one incident. While in a meeting it was brought to light that one of the male workers was wearing the same belt as me....I hope they realized mine was not Hermes.

Hot Pockets

If you have never had a hot pocket I suggest you try one. Anyway this DIY was inspired by versatility. I was in a fabric store and I couldn't decide on one fabric to sew onto my jeans shorts. I decided to get three and attach each one with velcro. This way depending on what I want to wear I can change my pockets accordingly.

Steps
1) Cut out a paper outline of the pocket
2) Pin the paper to the fabric and cut it out
3)Attach the velcro to the pants and the adjoining side to the fabric
4) mix and match

Brace Yourself

Its time to break out the friendship bracelet string. These arm candies are a new spin on the classic summer time accessory. Instead of braiding and knotting, try wrapping string around some thicker rock climbing rope. At stores like EMS you can find bright colors and bold patterns to adorn your wrists with.

Honey I Shrunk the Bag

Sometimes when I am out all day the last thing I want to do is carry a huge tote around. Thats when this cross the body bag comes in handy. It does what other bags can't. It forces you to downsize and only bring the essentials.

Norma Jean

Oversized blue button up, black jeans and stilettos. This is such a simple ensemble but its one of my favorites. The big shirt complements the skinny jeans and the heels take it to a whole new level. If you ever having trouble figuring out what to wear, you cant go wrong with this.

Sleevie Wonder

I don't know why but i'm a sucker for long sleeves. Even in the middle of the summer I will don them. But I draw the line there, i'm not Diane Keaton in Something's Gotta Give. No turtlenecks for me.

Twist Me

There seems to be a new trend of simply twisting articles of clothing. Why not, I think these two Tobi pieces are classic with a…twist. The dress on the left looks perfect for summer, it accentuates
your figure and the fabric is light and comfortable. With the new safari shirt craze this twisted top is the cats pajamas.

Style Icon: The Man Repeller

Plain and simple, Leandra Medine knows what she is doing. I truly applaud anyone who can blend prints so cohesively. Also side note, cheetah pants….to take a phrase from Zenon: Girl of the 21st century, zetus lapetus. I also love her because she dresses for herself (hence the man repeller). Her style makes my heart go zoom zoom zoom

Only Study Days Are Keeping Me From Summer

As final exams begin, I’m reminded of some of the essentials I need to get me through the week. Beyond the obvious (books, my glasses, and of course some necessary snacks), I also will certainly be sporting my go-to oversized sweaters, colorful scarves and j-brand pants to combat the arctic AC of the library. Hopefully this week of exams flies by fast so that I can get back to enjoying my summer wardrobe!

Spring Must Haves

Here's what i'm craving to sport as the weather heats up and the day light gets longer. As you can see, i've made a couple inVESTments in my spring wardrobe. If you think about it--- vests are just jackets 'summerfied'. Removing the sleeves makes them lighter and perfect for any summer ensemble. Throw one on with a t-shirt and shorts and you will instantly look effortlessly chic. I'm also excited about woven handbags and neon sandals; they are easy ways to give your outfit a pop of color and add a little spice.

Who Let the Dogs Out

I took last night as my last chance to wear a (faux) fur collar. All week I had spotted it in my closet, but with the warm weather, wearing it didn't seem like it was in the cards. But this chilly blast was just my luck. I am the kind of girl who wants to wear what she can't. I am always looking forward to wearing my summer clothes in winter, but by the time the warm weather is here i'm yearning for my winter wardrobe. This was the last hurrah for my winter clothes.
